FOUNDED BY JOLLY AND SAM MOKOROSI
Asili was born out of Jolly's longing to find natural cosmetics which were cost-effective and of good quality, for her family. After continuous struggles finding suitable cosmetics for fragile hair and skin, Jolly used her kitchen as a laboratory to develop products that she could use to give her hair and skin much-needed relief. Jolly initially made to order just for friends and family, customizing oils primarily sourced from women-managed or owned businesses to individual needs. Today the business focuses on cosmetics for retail distribution and consumption. We are based in Johannesburg and currently distribute to salons, spas and on online platforms. Our mission is to create and encourage the use of original hair and beauty products that stimulate healthy hair and skin using secrets discovered by our ancestors.

Coconut oil
Because coconut oil is the closest natural ingredient to the serum our skin naturally produces, it makes the ideal base for many of our product lines.
Shea Butter
This oil, that is central to West African cosmetic philosophies is prized for its gentle, softening and strengthening qualities.
Bees Wax
This natural byproduct of honey production has over a hundred uses but is ideal for smoothing and softening cosmetics as well as a natural but unaggressive sealant. This anti-allergenic and anti-inflammatory properties of bees wax also help sooth irritated skin.
Tea Tree Oil
This oil helps enhance natural shine whilst detoxing the scalp by getting rid of dead skin which promotes hair growth. Famous for its antibacterial properties this oil also relieves itchiness, dryness and discomfort.
Lemongrass Oil
Known for its ability to strengthen the hair follicle this oil helps promote optimal scalp health and combat hair loss.
Lavender Oil
This hardworking oil reduces hair loss, promotes scalp health, hair growth, conditions hair and helps reduce scalp itch.
Rose Oil
Not only a pretty smelling oil this oil is known for its antibacterial properties. Also known for its hydrating and emollient properties it is no wonder this is ranked amongst the world’s most prized and expensive oils. Rose oil is used in Ayurvedic medicine practices to augment skin health, which is necessary for good hair health.
